Holiday Luncheon & Employee Learning Week Kickoff

Join us for a lively panel discussion about career growth through ATD membership and service, and celebrate Employee Learning Week. Special guest Donna Schmelig will share how Emerson Electric has enhanced employee learning by implementing the 6Ds. Discover how your ATD St. Louis Chapter membership can help your career, and how you can help others by volunteering with the Chapter.

Meet Our Panelists:

Sarah Harris, ATD National Advisor for Midwest Area Chapters 2016

Sarah has almost twenty years of experience in learning and performance consulting and instructional design. She worked on project teams throughout Central Illinois in the public and private sector. She serves on the board of the Heart of Central Illinois Chapter of ATD and is currently responsible for developing internal employee training in her position at Citizens Equity First Credit Union (CEFCU). Sarah serves on the ATD National Advisors for Chapters for the Midwest Area and in 2012 served as the Chair of the ATD Chapter Recognition Committee. She co-authored “Identifying Barriers to Employee Performance with the Human Performance Improvement Process” in April, 2010 and co-authored "The Changing World of Talent Development" in November, 2014.  Under Sarah’s direction, the chapter received a 2010 Chapter Excellence Award for Strategic Partnerships. She serves as a Junior Achievement Classroom Consultant, a Peoria District 150 Reading Buddies mentor, and is a certified SDI Facilitator and Instructional Systems Designer.

Danielle Buscher, CPLP, Learning and Development Manager at West Community Credit Union

Danielle holds a Master of Science (M.S.), Human Resources and Organizational Development w/ emphasis in Workplace Learning from the University of Louisville. She was a Next Top Credit Union Executive Top 5 Finalist in the Credit Union Executive Society in November 2015. Danielle was featured in the October 2016 T&D Magazine as One to Watch - The One to Watch program recognizes rising stars in the talent development profession. These young leaders are dedicated, forward-thinkers who are passionate about applying effective and creative solutions to challenges facing their organizations — and our industry.

Michelle Rogers, Past President of the ATD St. Louis and Learning & Development Manager at Scottrade

Previously a Partner and Director of Training at Dale Carnegie, Michelle holds an MBA from Webster University. Following the economic downturn in 2009, many of our valued ATD St. Louis chapter members were forced to seek employment in other fields resulting in decreased revenue and concern for the sustainability of the chapter. Beginning in 2011, under Michelle’s brave and tireless direction as Chapter President, the contract with our outside management firm was cancelled and all chapter administrative functions became the responsibly of the chapter board of directors. By the end of 2011 we had reached financial stability and 2012 brought new life, increased membership, and a bright new future for the chapter.

Bob Kalal, President, Kalal Training Associates, LLC and St. Louis Chapter Member Emeritus

Bob holds a Masters in Adult Education & Pastoral Ministry from Seattle University. As President at Kalal Training Associates, Bob provides training in person and through Kalalcast: Helpful Workplace Training Podcasts, to groups of all sizes on the human aspects of work. Bob has been both an ATD member and an active ATD St. Louis Chapter member for many years. He has presented and sponsored the note pages for our meetings, assists in auditing our books and is an ATD St. Louis Chapter website sponsor.
