ATD St. Louis Board of Directors 2026

Management of the ATD St. Louis chapter is vested in a Board of Directors. It is the board's responsibility to carry out the chapter's objectives and to establish policies and procedures that facilitate management of the chapter. The Board of Directors acts for and on behalf of the membership. Board members are chapter members in good standing who volunteer to serve two-year terms.  Click the linked position titles below to review each board position's description.

President

     Nikki Thompson

Nikki Thompson proudly serves as President of ATD St. Louis, where she is committed to building meaningful connections and growth opportunities for learning professionals.

In her role as Director of Talent & Development at Code Consultants, Inc., Nikki leads leadership development and people strategy initiatives that drive organizational success. As President, she is focused on fostering inclusive spaces, strengthening partnerships, and creating programming that supports members at every stage of their journey.

President-Elect

   Jamil Bridges

Jamil is natural gas journeyman by trade, but he is an L&D profession at heart. Jamil been working as a trainer/facilitator/instructional designer for two of the largest energy companies in the state of IL. Learning & Development is his passion and he enjoys any and all of his knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences to help others reach their full potential. Jamil brings his enthusiasm for connecting people and broadening ATDSTL's reach individually and collectively. Working with chapter programming will afford ample opportunity to pay forward the benefits he has received from chapter membership thus far. Striving for excellence is Jamil's North Star. He is always going to aim for that in any task, role or project.

The President-Elect prepares to be Chapter President by staying abreast of ATD compliance requirements. They serve as the Chapter ATD CARE recorder and is responsible for submitting the Chapter CARE report to ATD by the required due date. VP, Finance

   Christina Powell, APTD

Christina Powell has been a Talent Development professional for more than 10 years with experience in facilitation, instructional design, and leadership development.   Currently, Tina creates quality client training content providing technical guidance and resources for end users of Equifax I-9 Management platforms.  She is goal oriented and focuses on increasing client retention through ongoing product support.  Tina also participated as Mentor and currently serves on the EWS Mentorship Board.  

The  Vice President of Finance manages the operational finances of the chapter. They create an annual operating budget and coordinates the budget and operational issues with other board members, as well as administrative services. They assure that chapter operations are in compliance with ATD's Chapter Affiliation Requirements (CARE). They audit income/expenses and cash-flow on a monthly basis to ensure chapter's sound financial status and ensures that the chapter follows state and federal reporting requirements. VP, Professional Development

   Tyra Austell-Jones

Tyra Austell‑Jones is a Senior Learning & Development Consultant at Cushman & Wakefield. She brings more than 20 years of experience in leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and technical training across healthcare, corporate, and nonprofit environments. Her career includes leading high‑performance teams, implementing enterprise learning programs, and designing onboarding and leadership curricula. Tyra is known for her responsiveness, collaboration, and ability to manage complex initiatives with clarity. A colleague described her as “One of the most responsive and organized OD/OE partners… able to balance many tasks simultaneously while keeping everyone involved in the project informed.”

The Vice President of Professional Development plans the annual chapter conference. They communicate and coordinate with keynote speakers, event site staff and collaborate with the other board members to manage all aspects of the event.  The VP of Professional Development collaborates with the VP of Communication to promote these events. They also collaborate with the Chapter President to set appropriate goals and performance measures to ensure the chapter is meeting their goals and providing meaningful events for members. VP, Membership

    Josh Higgins

Josh Higgins is a Sales Program Manager at World Wide Technology (WWT), focused on building scalable, data-driven sales onboarding programs that accelerate seller ramp and productivity. He also serves as Vice President of Membership for ATD St. Louis (ATDSTL), supporting the growth and engagement of the local talent development community. Outside of work, Josh values time with his family and staying grounded in what matters most.

The Vice President of Membership manages the design and implementation of policies, programs or initiatives that ensure membership growth and engagement; sets appropriate goals and performance measures for membership; ensures updated and appropriate membership records; invoices membership dues; maintains new member materials/brochures; and processes membership applications. They can be reached at membership@atdstl.org.

VP, Community Engagement

   Sarah Garner, CPTD, SHRM-CP
Sarah Garner is currently the Director of Organizational Development & Engagement, Training & Development for ACPA-College Student Educators International. Sarah is a curious, compassionate, and collaborative L&D leader with nearly two decades of progressive experience developing people and teams in various industries, including higher ed, non-profit, and ed tech. These experiences have given her the unique opportunity to adapt traditional L&D practices to a variety of settings and apply my strength as a relationship-builder amongst diverse stakeholders. Ultimately, that's what Sarah thinks the VP for Community Involvement position is all about: building mutually-beneficial relationships with educational and professional partners that enhance members' experiences. From her past work in higher ed and current role as an association professional, Sarah knows that student and community engagement help to sustain organizations like ATD St. Louis and looks forward to helping the chapter advance this part of its mission.

The Vice President of Community Engagement manages and promotes community and student engagement within the chapter by developing and executing initiatives such as a scholarship program, internship program, college outreach efforts, and student special interest groups. They also partner with other similar professional organizations to increase interest in our chapter while promoting new and different learning opportunities to our members. Director of Programming

    Kelli Callahan

Kelli Callahan is a highly experienced Senior Instructional Designer and Learning Consultant with over eight years of expertise in instructional design, eLearning, facilitation, and project management. She uncovers performance gaps and translates business goals into engaging, learner-centered solutions that drive measurable results. Kelli specializes in designing and delivering blended learning experiences, including instructor-led training, virtual learning, and eLearning, grounded in adult learning theory and proven instructional design methodologies. Kelli holds a Master of Education in Instructional Design from the University of Cincinnati and is an active member of the Association for Talent Development and The Learning Guild. On a personal note, Kelli enjoys hearing live music, dancing, her pets and travel.

The Director of Programming plans events of value for our members that reflect the vision of our Chapter. They communicate and coordinate with keynote speakers, event site staff and collaborate with the other board members to manage all aspects of each event.  In addition to regular chapter events, they are also responsible for special events to provide additional value and development to the members’ experience including the annual chapter conference, special interest groups, workshops/seminars, etc.  The VP of Programming collaborates with the VP of Communication to promote these events. They also collaborate with the Chapter President to set appropriate goals and performance measures to ensure the chapter is meeting their goals and providing meaningful events for members. Director of LEARN Conference

   Rachael Guebert

Rachael Guebert is an Associate and Talent Development Manager at HOK, where she plays a role in shaping employee growth, leadership capability, and organizational culture. With experience spanning talent development, talent acquisition, and HR strategy, Rachael brings a dynamic blend of people-centered leadership and strategic insight to her work.

Becoming Director of Learn Conference of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) St. Louis Chapter has been a meaningful milestone in Rachael's professional journey. After joining ATD in early 2025 and attending the ATD International Conference, she was inspired by the strong sense of community, collaboration, and shared commitment to advancing the talent development profession. In 2026, Rachael stepped into a new leadership role as a board member, serving as the Director of the Learn Conference.  They can be reached at  learnconference@atdstl.org.

Director of Technology

   David Kolmer, M.S. Ed Tech

David Kolmer is a learning experience designer, gamification strategist, writer, and podcast host who helps organizations turn training into engaging, behavior-changing experiences. With over a decade of experience in corporate learning and leadership development, he designs practical, human-centered programs that blend play, technology, and business outcomes to drive real performance. David is the host of the GAMELAYER.fm Podcast and writes about Learning and Development at ImprovementDave.com.

The Director of Educational Technology maintains ATD St. Louis’ digital infrastructure, ensuring the chapter’s website, platforms, and event technology run smoothly and reliably. This role manages the website CMS and integrations, supports Zoom and AV for virtual and hybrid programs, oversees user access and security hygiene, and troubleshoots issues across chapter systems. Partnering closely with Communications and Programming, they publish updates, test forms and workflows, and help select tools that improve the member experience. They also lead the annual tech audit and support retreats and the Learn Conference with equipment and connectivity planning, contributing to a seamless, user‑friendly digital ecosystem for the chapter. Director of Community Partnerships

   Erin Magner

Erin Magner is a learning and leadership development professional with 14+ years of experience helping leaders strengthen teams, build capability, and navigate change. She serves as Associate Director at Daniel Boone Regional Library and is passionate about leadership development, community connection, and practical strategies that help people and organizations grow..

The  The Director of Community Partnerships strengthens ATD St. Louis by maintaining the structure and accountability that support sponsor and partner relationships. This role tracks commitments and deliverables, manages agreements and invoicing documentation, and collaborates with Communications to ensure accurate recognition across chapter channels. Working closely with the VP of Community Development, they provide regular status updates, flag risks, and support partner engagement at retreats, chapter meetings, and the annual Learn Conference. Their work ensures transparent, reliable partnership operations that advance the chapter’s strategic goals and community impact. oversees the recruitment and management of all chapter volunteers. Immediate Past President

   Jazmin Webster

Jazmin Webster is a Workforce Development and Training Leader with more than 15 years of experience advancing performance in the biopharmaceutical and clinical research industries. Her background spans quality control, quality assurance, global training leadership, and workforce development strategy, supported by academic foundations in Microbiology and Adult Learning.

An internationally published author, speaker, and master facilitator, Jazmin is known for her innovative approach to learning experience design, strategic planning, and performance improvement. She has led global training functions, strengthened quality systems, and built workforce development strategies that elevate capability, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.

As Immediate Past President, Jazmin serves as an advisor to the Board of Directors, acting as a steward of past practice and Board historian. She can be reached at advisor@atdstl.org

Past President

   Jessica Mader

Jess has a bachelor's degree in English and Secondary Education and has worked as a Senior Trainer Development Specialist at Edward Jones for the past 14 years. She has a Practitioner's Badge in Design Thinking through IBM and enjoys facilitating through Design Thinking. Throughout her life, volunteering has been an integral part, and she even earned a college scholarship for impact in the community. She continues to look for opportunities to volunteer with coworkers, her husband Matt, and her three children: Finley, Riley, and Wesley. Through this role, Jess looks forward to connecting with other training professionals who are passionate about facilitation and developing others.

As Advisor to the Board Jessica acts as a steward of past practice and Board historian.
